Anti-Spam Policy
Last updated June 5, 2026
This Anti-Spam Policy applies to all viggoVet services that let you send bulk or commercial email or other electronic messages (such as SMS or in-app messaging) to your own contacts (the “Covered Services”). It forms part of, and supplements, our Terms of Use and Terms of Service. The viggoVet entity you contract with is identified in our Legal Entities document. By using a Covered Service you agree to comply fully with this Policy.
You may use Covered Services only to message recipients who have given you explicit, verifiable permission to receive communications on the topics you contact them about. You are also responsible for complying with applicable anti-spam and electronic-communications laws, which may include the US CAN-SPAM Act and TCPA, Canada’s CASL, the EU ePrivacy rules and GDPR, and equivalent local laws.
1. What “permission” means
Permission means express, clear, and verifiable consent from the recipient. Acceptable forms include:
- an email address submitted when buying a product or service, or downloading from your website;
- subscribing to your newsletter through a form on your website;
- voluntary participation in a survey, contest, or event where recipients are told they will receive marketing messages;
- ticking an opt-in box (unchecked by default) where the nature of future messages is made clear; or
- providing a business card and expressing willingness to receive commercial messages.
A recipient who marks your message as spam, or who unsubscribes, is treated as having withdrawn permission, even if they consented before.
2. Compliance requirements
When using Covered Services you must:
- Keep proof of consent for every contact you import or message, and provide it to us on request, even for contacts you have not yet messaged.
- Never use purchased, rented, borrowed, or scraped lists, or addresses harvested from websites or public directories, regardless of vendor claims.
- Be truthful in routing and headers: From, To, domain names, and sender addresses must be accurate.
- Use honest subject lines that reflect the content of the message.
- Include a clear, working, one-click unsubscribe in every marketing message, and honour opt-out requests promptly and in any event within 10 business days.
- Include your valid physical postal address in marketing communications.
- Identify marketing clearly: state, where required, that the message is an advertisement or solicitation and that the recipient can opt out.
- Follow messaging-channel rules: for SMS or other messaging, obtain any additional consent the law requires and support recognised opt-out keywords (for example, in the United States, STOP to unsubscribe and HELP for help).
3. Monitoring and enforcement
We may monitor sending through automated tools to protect deliverability and system integrity. Accounts with excessive bounce or complaint rates may be rate-limited. If we determine that you have used Covered Services without valid permission or in breach of this Policy or applicable law, we may suspend or terminate your access without prior notice, in addition to our other rights under the Terms of Service. Your continued use of the Covered Services confirms your acceptance of this Policy.
4. Reporting abuse
To report suspected abuse of Covered Services by a viggoVet user, contact our abuse team at the abuse report form at viggo.vet/legal/report-abuse (or the contact form at viggo.vet/legal/contact). We appreciate your help in keeping our platform spam-free and respectful.
