PrimVeterinary with viggoVet
PrimVeterinary brings cited clinical answers. viggoVet runs the practice day around them, from booking to anesthesia, dental and house calls.
Key takeaways
- PrimVeterinary is an evidence-based clinical decision-support platform, free for veterinary professionals, with a clinic version that sits inside the practice's software as a browser extension.
- viggoVet runs the practice day and the specialty rooms around it: booking, records, reminders, client chat, anesthesia, dental and house calls.
- Both believe clinical AI must cite its evidence.
- PrimVeterinary says veterinary AI lacks shared benchmarks, and is building its own. We agree it matters, and VetEval's door is open.
What is PrimVeterinary, and what is it good at?
PrimVeterinary is an evidence-based clinical decision-support platform for veterinary professionals, free to use on the web and on iOS and Android. It cites veterinary textbooks, peer-reviewed journals and clinical guidelines, and it is advised by a long list of named specialists from Cornell, Edinburgh, UPenn and elsewhere. On its homepage it reports more than 20,000 registered and verified veterinary professionals, more than 200,000 clinical cases consulted in September 2026, and clinicians in 81 countries.
On 4 June 2026 it introduced the Co-Clinician, now in beta for enterprise customers.
It asks the vet when a detail is missing rather than guessing, and when textbooks and recent journals disagree it shows both sides. That is exactly how a good colleague behaves.
For clinics, Prim for Clinics puts a Co-Clinician panel inside the practice's own software through a browser extension, with a case summary, a cited consult and a scribe. PrimVeterinary lists ezyVet, IDEXX Neo, Cornerstone, Provet Cloud, Vetspire, Digitail, AVImark and Covetrus Pulse as systems it works with, and offers clinical directors a dashboard of clinical flags and unbilled charges across locations.
It also does serious research. In August 2026 it published VETSCORE, a framework for verifying the facts in long-form veterinary AI answers, and it has a benchmark for harms and omissions in veterinary clinical question answering in progress. Its research page is direct about the problem:
What viggoVet adds around it
- The practice day: online booking, a calendar by provider and room, the Status Board, client and patient records, client chat, tasks, reminders, and lab results from IDEXX, Zoetis and Woodley.
- The surgery: AI Anesthesia Assist, an advisory stability or risk read at every vitals entry. Vitals are entered manually today.
- The dental suite: AI Dental Chart, charting to prognosis to the owner letter.
- The road: AI Remote Booking, the mobile day arranged as a route.
How to judge any clinical AI, including ours
- Who tested it, other than the company that sells it?
- Is the method published?
- Does the result come with a confidence interval, or only one number?
- Is harmful advice judged by licensed veterinarians and counted against the result?
- Can you open every source behind an answer?
An open invitation
PrimVeterinary is right that veterinary AI lacks shared benchmarks, and its own research adds rigor the field needs. A benchmark is shared when many vendors' tools are measured the same way. VetEval was built for that, with its method published at veteval.ai. Evaluation needs API access to a model, and it is open to any vendor on the same published terms. We would welcome PrimVeterinary's on it.
