The open veterinary platform · Built by vets

The AI in the room.

Most veterinary software waits at the front desk, or writes the note once the visit is over. viggoVet works in the room, while the patient is still in front of you. It reads the case, checks the evidence, and gives you something to act on at the moment you need it. Every answer comes with the research it is based on, so you can open the source and read it yourself.

Veterinary AI that shows up where the work happens: surgery, dental, and the road.

Nothing to migrate. Cancel anytime during the trial at no charge. Everything you build stays yours.

viggoVet's AI is clinical decision-support only. It assists; it does not decide. The licensed veterinarian holds full clinical responsibility. It is not a medical device, monitor, or alarm.

It started with one question.

In a working clinic, in the middle of an ordinary team meeting, a vet asked a question that wasn’t quite grammatical and turned out to be the whole idea: if the AI is in the room now, how will it be? One word did the work. Room. At the time, veterinary AI lived in two places, the note after the visit and the phone at the front desk, and neither was in the room at the moment a patient was on the table and a decision was waiting.

So Dr. Michael Gerges, a veterinary surgeon with fourteen years in practice, stopped asking which feature to ship next and started walking. Into the surgery. Into the dental suite. Into the treatment room, and out to the mobile vet’s vehicle. In each room he asked the same thing: if the AI were here, in this room, what would it actually do? The answers weren’t features. They were the moments vets carry home: the long anesthesia you watch on your own, the dental estimate an owner can’t quite say yes to, the drive back from the last farm call later than it should be.

That is where the work is, so that is where the AI belongs. viggoVet is what that walk built. The full story, room by room, is on our About page.

A colleague in the room, not a note-taker after it.

Plenty of veterinary AI describes the day once it is over. viggoVet was built for the part that can’t wait: the decision itself. It reads the patient in front of you (breed, age, weight, conditions, current medications) against the published literature, and gives you a considered answer while the moment is still open. You weigh it. You decide. And you can open the source and read it, because a claim you can’t check isn’t worth much in medicine.

Room by room, the moments look like this. In the surgery, a second read on the patient’s stability during a procedure. In the dental suite, the report and the plain-language explanation that help an owner understand and consent. In the consult, evidence-based answers for the case that isn’t obvious. At the dispensary, a dose and an interaction check for this specific patient. In the ward, a care plan the whole team can follow. On the road, a mobile day arranged so there is less driving and an earlier finish. The tools that do this are in the directory above; the thinking behind them is the same in every room.

A consultation with the AI clinical summary drafting the vitals and the medical note from the conversation
The consult: the AI drafts vitals and the medical note for you to check and add.

Different rooms, one clinical brain.

Every tool draws on the same engine, grounded in a curated corpus of more than 8 million copyright-free veterinary research items and consented, de-identified clinical cases, shaped by more than 300 practicing vets, across 80-plus species and 28-plus languages. Your clinic’s data is never part of that corpus, and never used for AI training. That is why the answer in the surgery and the answer at the dispensary speak the same language, lean on the same quality of evidence, and understand the same patient.

Every answer also shows its work. Where viggoVet gives you a recommendation, the published source sits next to it, marked and clickable, so you can check it before you rely on it.

We built the industry’s measuring stick.

Veterinary AI has no oversight body. No premarket review, no outside testing, nothing between a vendor’s claims and your patients; the profession’s own colleges have formally called for an evaluation organization answerable to no vendor, and none existed. So we built one: VetEval, the public benchmark for veterinary AI. Expert-authored examination items across species and specialties, published methodology, scores with confidence intervals, and a safety gate that caps any model a panel of licensed veterinarians confirms giving harmful advice.

What it means for you: the models behind this industry can now be checked instead of trusted. Whatever veterinary AI you are evaluating, and whoever it comes from, if it is built on a general-purpose model, the question worth asking is simple: what is the VetEval Index of the model behind it?

Every clinical AI tool a veterinarian needs. On any system, or Ours.

The tools are the proof. The platform is the point. viggoVet is the open veterinary platform, and it meets your practice whichever way you need it.

It completes the software you already run. Keep your practice system, your accounting, your labs. viggoVet adds the clinical AI they don’t have, alongside them, with nothing ripped out.

It is the foundation other veterinary tools are built on. Modules, an SDK, and a marketplace, so other veterinary companies build on the platform. Partners are building now, and public developer access is coming.

Or it can run your whole practice. Every module turned on, for clinics that want one platform end to end. Our closed beta testers have run it for more than a year.
