Alongside your software
CoVet with viggoVet
Use CoVet for notes and viggoVet for the rest of the visit: booking, records, anesthesia, dental and house calls, alongside your current software.
Key takeaways
- CoVet writes the consult. It is one of the most capable AI scribes in veterinary medicine and, since 16 September 2026, part of IDEXX.
- viggoVet runs the rest of the visit around it: booking, check-in, records, reminders, client chat, and clinical AI in the surgery, the dental suite and on the road.
- IDEXX says CoVet will keep working with non-IDEXX practice software, so practices can keep CoVet and add viggoVet without changing either.
- AI Remote Booking arranges a mobile vet's day as a driving route, the one room no scribe is built for.
What is CoVet, and what is it good at?
CoVet is an AI clinical copilot built by veterinary professionals. It listens to the consultation and produces the documentation: SOAP notes, transcripts and follow-up material. Its "Consult CoVet" layer adds point-of-care support, and CoVet states that its AI answers show their sources. It covers general practice, emergency and specialty work, plus equine and exotics, in several languages.
On 16 September 2026, IDEXX Laboratories announced it had acquired CoVetAI Inc. IDEXX described CoVet as serving "tens of thousands of users across North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand."
IDEXX also committed that CoVet "will continue to support other ambient scribe solutions and third-party integrations" and will "continue to integrate with non-IDEXX practice management systems." That commitment matters to independent practices, and it is what makes CoVet and viggoVet a natural pair.
The note is one moment. The visit has many.
A scribe captures what was said in the consult room. A patient's visit starts earlier and ends later: the booking, the check-in, the wait, the procedure, the dental estimate, the reminder six months on, the house call next week. Those are the moments viggoVet was built for.
Before the consult. Online booking, a calendar by provider and room, and the Status Board, which shows every patient's state from check-in to check-out.
Around the consult. Client and patient records, an AI summary of the patient's history, lab results from IDEXX, Zoetis and Woodley, client chat, team tasks, and reminders.
In the surgery. AI Anesthesia Assist reads each vitals entry against the whole patient and returns an advisory stability or risk indication with a guideline-based comment, usually in 10 to 30 seconds. Vitals are entered manually today. It assists; it does not decide.
In the dental suite. AI Dental Chart turns tooth-by-tooth charting into a prognosis, the notes, and a plain-language letter that explains to the owner what was found and what waiting costs.
On the road. AI Remote Booking puts a mobile vet's day in route order, with drive time between stops, bookings kept inside each vet's radius, and records uploaded at booking imported as a full patient profile.
How CoVet and viggoVet divide the work
CoVet | viggoVet, alongside |
|---|---|
Listens to the consult and writes SOAP notes | Books the visit, checks the patient in, tracks them on the Status Board |
Consult CoVet support at the point of care | AI Anesthesia Assist in the surgery, AI Dental Chart in the dental suite |
Transcripts and follow-up documentation | Reminders, tasks and client chat that carry the plan forward |
Part of the IDEXX ecosystem | Works alongside whatever practice software you run |
Together: CoVet writes the consult; viggoVet runs the visit around it. |

Does adding viggoVet change how my team uses CoVet?
No. Your vets keep dictating with CoVet as they do today. viggoVet works beside it, and nothing in your CoVet setup changes.
FAQ
Does CoVet still work if we don't use IDEXX practice software? IDEXX says CoVet will continue to integrate with non-IDEXX practice management systems and support third-party integrations.
Why use viggoVet if CoVet already writes our notes? Because the note is one part of the visit. viggoVet covers booking, check-in, records, reminders and client chat, plus clinical AI for anesthesia, dental and mobile work, which a scribe is not built to do.
Is AI Anesthesia Assist a monitor? No. It is advisory clinical decision-support. It is not a medical device, monitor or alarm, and the veterinarian makes every decision.
Is our data used for AI training? No. viggoVet data is GDPR-aligned, end-to-end encrypted, stored in your region, and never used for AI training.
Keep CoVet. Add the rest of the visit.

Part of the viggoVet platform.
CoVet is one module of viggoVet, the open veterinary platform. The platform completes any practice software with the clinical AI it's missing, hosts the tools other veterinary companies build on it through its marketplace, and can run a whole practice end to end for clinics that choose it. Start with the module that solves today's problem; the platform is there as you grow.
