viggoVet is a web application. There’s no software to install, no servers to maintain, and no updates to schedule. You access everything through your browser.
Browsers
Recommended: Chrome 90 or later, it provides the most consistent experience and receives priority testing for new features.
Also supported:
- Firefox 88 or later
- Safari 14 or later (macOS)
- Edge 90 or later (Windows)
Make sure JavaScript and cookies are enabled. If you use an ad blocker, allow viggo.vet to avoid interference with the platform. Allow pop-ups from viggo.vet if prompted.
Tip: For the best experience across all devices, use Chrome. It’s what the viggoVet team tests against first.
Internet connection
Scenario | Download | Upload |
|---|---|---|
Single user | 5 Mbps | 1 Mbps |
5-10 concurrent users | 25 Mbps | 5 Mbps |
Per additional user | +2 Mbps | , |
viggoVet requires a continuous internet connection. The platform does not cache data for offline use. If your connection drops, refresh the page after reconnecting.
Note: The platform works with up to 200ms latency. Higher latency affects page load times and real-time features like Status Board updates.
Hardware
Desktop and laptop
Spec | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
Processor | Dual-core, 2.0 GHz | Quad-core, 2.5 GHz+ |
RAM | 4 GB | 8 GB+ |
Display | 1280×720 | 1920×1080+ |
If your team keeps multiple browser tabs open at once, more RAM helps. Larger displays improve efficiency on data-heavy screens like the Status Board and calendar.
Tablets
iPad Air (3rd generation) or later, or Android tablets with at least an 8-inch screen and 4 GB RAM. Tablets work well for exam room use and the Status Board display.
Mobile phones
viggoVet’s interface adapts to phone screens for quick tasks like checking appointments, looking up patient records, and reviewing the Status Board. Full data entry works better on a tablet or desktop.
Peripherals
Scanners. Document scanners or your phone camera work for receipt scanning and invoice scanning. The AI accepts PDF, JPG, and PNG files.
Printers. Any network-accessible printer handles invoice printing, receipts, and medical records. You can also generate PDFs for all printable documents.
Microphones. Voice dictation requires microphone access. Built-in laptop microphones work, but an external USB microphone improves accuracy in noisy clinic environments.
Label printers. Standard thermal label printers compatible with browser printing work for prescription and inventory labels. Some brands may require local driver software.
Data storage
All data lives on viggoVet’s servers. No local disk space is needed beyond your browser’s standard cache.
Security
Passwords. Use a unique password with at least 8 characters.
Encryption. All data travels over HTTPS. You can access viggoVet from public Wi-Fi, but we recommend using a VPN for sensitive operations.
Session timeout. Sessions expire after a period of inactivity configured by your clinic’s super admin. Active work is not automatically saved before timeout, so save regularly.
Warning: If you’re on a shared or public computer, always log out when finished. Don’t use the “Remember me” option on devices others can access.
Integration requirements
If you plan to connect viggoVet with external systems, you’ll need active subscriptions and API access in those systems:
Integration | Requirement |
|---|---|
QuickBooks, Xero, Zoho Books | Active subscription with API access enabled |
IDEXX, Zoetis | Account linkage and data sharing agreement |
Twilio (SMS) | Active Twilio account |
WhatsApp, Telegram | Configured separately through viggoVet settings |
Browser settings
Disable browser translation features to keep medical terminology accurate. Set zoom to 100% for proper interface sizing. If you see layout issues after a platform update, clear your browser cache.
