WhiteBoard Room Display

Available onEnterprise

Reading time: 4 minutes

The WhiteBoard is a display-only view of the Treatment Plan for a specific room. It is designed to run on a TV or large monitor mounted in a treatment room, ward, or prep area. The display updates in real time as staff complete tasks, add medications, or check vitals through the main Treatment Plans interface. It is not interactive. Staff cannot click, tap, or modify anything on the WhiteBoard screen.

How it works

  1. Your clinic mounts a TV or monitor in a treatment room.
  2. You open the WhiteBoard URL in a browser on that screen.
  3. You enter the room code to connect the display to the correct room.
  4. The screen shows a real-time view of the treatment plan for patients in that room.
  5. As staff complete tasks or add new orders through their workstations, the WhiteBoard updates automatically.

Accessing the WhiteBoard

The WhiteBoard is accessed through a public URL specific to your clinic:

URL format: yourclinic.viggo.vet/room-board

Replace “yourclinic” with your clinic’s subdomain.

Another way to access the WhiteBoard is from your account login page.

When you open this URL, you are prompted to enter a room code. Each room in your clinic has its own code, configured in the Rooms settings

Finding the room code

Room codes are configured in your clinic’s room settings:

  1. Go to Configurations > Rooms (or wherever rooms are managed in your clinic setup).
  2. Each room has a unique code assigned.
  3. Use that code when connecting a WhiteBoard display to the room.

What the WhiteBoard shows

The WhiteBoard displays the treatment plan for the selected room, including:

Element

Clinic name and room

Header showing which clinic and room this display is connected to (e.g., “Viggo Demo Vet, Room 1”)

Patient list

Patients currently assigned to this room

Scheduled tasks

Medications, vitals, procedures, and activities on the timeline

Task status

Real time updates

Changes made by staff appear on the display without refreshing

Setting up a WhiteBoard display

Hardware

  • A TV or large monitor in the treatment room
  • A device to run the browser (smart TV browser, Chromecast, Fire TV Stick, mini PC, tablet, or any device with a web browser)
  • Stable network connection (the display needs continuous internet to receive real-time updates)

Configuration steps

  1. Connect your display device to your clinic’s network.
  2. Open a web browser on the device.
  3. Navigate to yourclinic.viggo.vet/room-board.
  4. Enter the room code when prompted.
  5. The WhiteBoard loads and begins showing the treatment plan for that room.
  6. Set the browser to full-screen mode for the best display.

Tips for display setup

  • Use full-screen mode (F11 on most browsers) to hide the address bar and tabs.
  • Disable screen sleep/screensaver on the display device so it stays visible.
  • If using a smart TV browser, bookmark the URL for quick access after restarts.
  • The display is designed for landscape orientation on large screens.

Important: display only

The WhiteBoard is not interactive. It is a view-only screen. Staff cannot:

  • Click on tasks to complete them
  • Add new medications or activities
  • Modify the treatment plan
  • Interact with patient records

All modifications to the treatment plan are made through the main Treatment Plans interface on workstations or tablets. The WhiteBoard simply reflects the current state in real time.

Room-based access

Each WhiteBoard display is connected to one room at a time. If your clinic has multiple treatment rooms, each room gets its own WhiteBoard display with its own room code. This means:

  • Room 1’s TV shows only Room 1’s patients and tasks
  • Room 2’s TV shows only Room 2’s patients and tasks
  • Each display is independent

What to do if something goes wrong

WhiteBoard showing “no data” or blank screen: Verify the room code is correct. Check that patients are assigned to that room in the Treatment Plans interface. If no patients are in the room, the display may appear empty.

Display not updating in real time: Check the network connection on the display device. The WhiteBoard requires a stable internet connection to receive live updates. Try refreshing the browser.

Room code not working: Confirm the code in your Rooms configuration settings. Room codes are case-sensitive.

Display keeps timing out or going to sleep: Adjust the power and sleep settings on your display device. Most smart TVs and streaming devices have a screen timeout that needs to be disabled for continuous display use.

Wrong room showing on the display: You may have entered the wrong room code. Refresh the page and re-enter the correct code for the room where the TV is located.

Note: Contact the viggoVet help if any of these problems persist after following the instructions.
