The Professional Foundation
Swiss Partnership

The results of this collaboration were extraordinary. Dr. Michael’s clinic achieved a remarkable 32% net profit margin – double the industry standard of 10-15% for small animal practices and well above the 18% threshold considered “exceptionally good” by industry experts. This wasn’t just a financial victory – it demonstrated that with the right approach, veterinary practices could achieve profitability levels that most in the industry considered impossible.
The success was so significant that Dr. Michael made a strategic decision to invest in the Swiss company that had helped transform his practice.
From Private Success to Industry Solution
The Core Problem:
Engineering Mindset vs. Veterinary Mindset
Through his journey and discussions with colleagues, Dr. Michael identified a fundamental flaw in existing veterinary software solutions. The main struggle with all the practice management systems he and his colleagues had used was their inherent complexity – software designed with an engineering workflow mindset rather than understanding how veterinarians actually think and work.
“Software should adapt to how veterinarians work, not force veterinarians to adapt to how engineers think software should work.”
This realization became the founding principle for what would become viggoVet.
Building the Right Team:
Healthcare-Focused Development
Dr. Michael assembled a team of 14 specialized developers, but not just any developers. He specifically sought out professionals with intensive experience in:
- Data security for healthcare environments
- Healthcare databases and systems architecture
- Understanding the unique requirements of medical practice software
The development process took three years of intensive work, guided by the principle that every feature must serve the veterinary mindset rather than software development convenience.
The Data Privacy Crisis:
A Red Flag for the Industry
viggoVet‘s team investigated the veterinary software landscape, and uncovered a disturbing reality that would shape viggoVet‘s core mission. Major veterinary software companies, owned by large corporations, were using practice data for their own internal purposes through clear “right of use” clauses in their agreements.
This discovery was a red flag that highlighted a critical gap: unlike global healthcare standards and HIPAA compliance in human medicine, the veterinary industry was not aligned with proper data security and privacy standards.
viggoVet‘s vision became clear: achieve true data security and privacy regulations and commitment for the veterinary industry.
The AI Investigation:
Consumer Technology in Professional Settings
As the AI era began transforming industries, viggoVet‘s team conducted extensive research into AI-powered solutions available to veterinary practices. Their investigation revealed a troubling pattern: virtually all existing “AI-powered” veterinary solutions were depending on consumer AI platforms like ChatGPT.
The Data Security Discovery: Through intensive research, the team found evidence of significant data leaking issues with everything processed through ChatGPT and similar consumer AI platforms. This posed serious risks for veterinary practices handling sensitive patient and business information.
The 20-Year Technology Gap:
A Pattern of Veterinary Industry Neglect
The research revealed a disturbing historical pattern: the veterinary industry consistently receives technology innovations 20+ years after their initial release. Laboratory machines, MRI technology, digital systems – all arrived in veterinary medicine decades after becoming standard in other industries.
“We decided to make it clear that the Veterinary Medicine industry deserves equality with other healthcare sectors.”
The Global Veterinary AI Initiative:
 300 Veterinarians, One Vision
Determined to break this cycle of technological inequality, viggoVet‘s team initiated an unprecedented global collaboration. Working with over 300 veterinarians from different countries, the team embarked on collecting and training Business Reasoning Veterinary AI models.
The Data Foundation: The collaborative effort assembled millions of veterinary scientific data points, all copyright-free, creating the largest veterinary-specific AI training dataset ever compiled.

The Ultimate Commitment:
Full Industry Transformation
In 2025, Dr. Michael made the ultimate commitment to his vision. He exited the veterinary clinic business entirely and completed a full acquisition of the Swiss software company that had originally helped transform his practice.
The company was rebranded to viggoVet – a name that carries a story of “Viggo Sorensen” with deep meaning and purpose that reflects the company’s commitment to saving lives and creating a positive impact in the veterinary community.
The viggoVet Mission:
Technology Equality for Veterinary Medicine
Today, Dr. Michael and his team lead viggoVet with a clear mission: ensure that veterinary medicine receives the same level of technological sophistication, data security, and AI intelligence that other healthcare sectors have long enjoyed.
The Foundation Principles:
- Veterinary-specific AI, not adapted consumer technology
- Swiss-standard data privacy and security
- Workflows designed by veterinarians, for veterinarians
- Complete data ownership and privacy for veterinary practices
- Enterprise-level technology solutions worthy of the veterinary profession
“Our industry deserves better than hand-me-down technology and compromised data security. viggoVet exists to ensure veterinary medicine gets the respect, tools, and technological equality it has always deserved.”
